Lindeman Back in Victory Lane
September 29 & 30, 2007

By: Heather Sica
Claremont , NH –The All-Star Race Trucks voyaged up to Twin States Speedway, in Claremont , NH to give their fans an excitement packed feature for their closing weekend. It was the #3 of Andy Lindeman, who was able to claim the checkers in a three way battle for the lead, and return, once again, to victory lane.

Lindeman started his way to victory in Saturday's first heat race where he quickly took over the lead and kept it through a green flag heat.

Point leader, Seth Duval, took the checker in heat two after making contact with the #83 of Gee Perry, who spun between turns 1 and 2, after side by side battling for the 2 previous laps. Defending champion, Chris Correll's string of bad luck continued, as he ended up in the wall on the backstretch before the completion of the heat race. After assessing the damage on the #7 Hooters Truck, Correll took the green in Sunday's race in his teammate Chris Austill's truck, the #07.

Sunday's race began with the #12 of Derek Chriss on the pole, with 2 nd place point sitter, Bill Leonard to his outside. Coming out of turn 2, on lap one, the #12 of Chriss, and the #8 of Leonard, went high, and the trucks scrambled behind, as the #3 of Andy Lindeman dove to the low side to take the lead on lap 1. The trucks continued to battle side by side, as they tried to chase down the #3 of Lindeman. The caution flag flew on lap four, as the #12 of pole sitter Derek Chriss spun in turns 3 and 4. On the restart, it was the #3 of Lindeman who took off out front, but was closely being chased by the #8 of Leonard, and the #16 of Seth Duval. Lap ten brought out another caution as the #07 of Correll went around in turns 1 and 2. It was Lindeman out front again for the green flag, as the caution flew again on Lap fourteen for the #07 of Correll spinning in turns 3 and 4. Lap 19 was the end of the race for the #41 of Mike Carrig, as he sat in the infield steaming, with motor problems. No caution was brought out at this time.

The leaders had spread out, as the battle heated up for 4 th position between the #99 of Bernie Singer and the #83 of Gee Perry. Lap twenty-six meant another caution, as the #99 of Singer went around due to contact with the #83 of Perry. On the restart, Lindeman was yet again out front, followed by the #16 of Duval, and the #99 of Singer took over 3 rd place from the #8 of Leonard. The #8 took 3 rd back on lap 28, and the battle of the top 3 heated up. Point Leader Seth Duval battled on the outside of Lindeman, took the lead on lap 31, but surrendered it back to the #3 on lap 32, and battled on the outside against the #8 of Bill Leonard. Leonard took the lead on lap 34, but a 3 way battle was finished with Lindeman out front, with Bill Leonard in 2 nd . Coming off of turn 4, on the final lap, contact made between 3 rd place, Bernie Singer and 4 th place Seth Duval, sent the #99 of Singer around, and Duval clenched 3 rd . The #03 of Tony Naglieri finished 4 th as the #99 of Singer finished backward in the 5 th position. The #83 of Perry, #12 of Derek Chriss, #64 of Tom Smith, #07 of Chris Correll, and the #7 of Chris Austill rounded out the top 10. The #41 of Mike Carrig finished in 11 th position, seventeen laps down, due to motor problems.

The trucks have a week off, as they venture to Thompson International Speedway, on Saturday, October 14 th , for the World Series, to decide the 2007 All-Star Race Truck Champion. The #16 of Seth Duval maintains a 4 point lead, over 2 nd place Andy Lindeman, who moved ahead of the #8 of Bill Leonard, by only 6 points. This points championship cannot be determined until the final lap at Thompson International Speedway, Thompson , Connecticut .

Duval Gets It Done At Mountain Speedway

September 2, 2007
by Heather Sica

St. Johns, PA - This Labor Day weekend did not mean a vacation for the AllStar Race Trucks.  Eleven drivers and teams made the voyage to St. John's, PA to compete at Mountain Speedway.  This is the first trip to Mountain this season for the AllStar Race Trucks, buy hopefully not the last.

The evening's events begain with the #16 of Seth Duval and the #711 of Walt Wosko winning their heat races.  These two drivers are running 1st and 2nd in the point standings and every point counts with only 3 more features to go this season.  The feature began with the #3 of Andy Lindeman on the pole with the #99 of Bernie Singer to his outside.  Lindeman kept the lead for the first 5 laps with the 3rd place truck of Seth Duval made a move past the #99 of Singer to take over 2nd place coming out of turn 4 and kept the momentum going to take over the lead from Lindeman going into turn 1.  On lap 7, Singer was able to take over the 2nd position from pole sitter Andy Lindeman, leaving Lindeman on the outside and dropped back to 7th place by lap 11.  The caution flag flew onlap 24 when the #41 of Mike Carrigg spun in turns 1 and 2.  On the re-start, Duval was able to stay out front as the battle for 2nd went on behind him.  The #8 of Bill Leonard, who started the feature in 5th position, was able to take over 2nd and charged after the #16 of Duval for the lead.  However, he was unable to make a pass after many attempts and on lap 35, he was overtaken by point leader Walt Wosko.  The remaining laps of the feature went on without caution giving the victory to the winner Seth Duval.  The #711 of Wosko, #8 of Leonard, #07 of Rick Charrette, and the #10 of Willy Auchmoody rounded out the top 10.  There were no post race infractions discovered during inspection, leaving winner Seth Duval 13 points over the #711 of Walt Wosko.

A petition of the motor of the #711 of Walt Wosko was posted after the race.  That teardown is schedulted to happen sometime this week before the trucks take on once again at Waterford Speedbowl, Saturday, September 22, 2007.

As a result of the engine inspection, Wosko was DQ'd from the event.

Wosko wins at Airborne International Speedway

August 25, 2007
by Heather Sica

Plattsburgh, NY - The AllStar Race Truck Series made the voyage to upstate New York this past Saturday to race at the 1/2 mile asphalt track, Airborne International Speedway.  The weather was a concern, and therefore, the trucks forfeited their heat races and started the 30 lap feature event according to handicap.

The #41 of Mike Carrigg of Southbury, CT started on the pole, with #12 Derek Chriss of Troy, NY to his outside.  Coming into turn 2, Carrigg got loose and went straight to the high side of the track with everyone scattering to the bottom to get by.  As the #3 of Andy Lindeman took the lead on lap 2, the excitement was for 2nd, when the #711 of Walt Wosko, current points leader, and the #16 of Seth Duval, 2nd in points, sandwiched the #64 of Tom Smith coming out of turn 2.  The position went to the #711.  Wosko kept on the hunt to chase down Lindeman, and finally took the lead away on lap 9.

The race went caution free until the half-way point, when the #07 of Chris Austill spun in turn 2.  On the re-start, Wosko battled Duval for the lead.  Wosko took off and was able to distance himself from the rest of the pack.  Everyone settled into their groove, trying to make up the distance to the leader.  Eventually, Duval was overtaken by last week's winner, Bill Leonard in the #8.  Lap 25 meant trouble for the #64 of Tom Smith who broke a front wheel bearing, but was able to get off the track without a caution.  The completion of the race went on, caution free, ending with Walt Wosko in victory lane.  Bill Leonard, Seth Duval, Andy Lindeman, and Chris Correll rounded out the top 5.

After post-race inspection Walt Wosko was found with rule infractions and was fined $100 and the loss of 50 points.

The AllStar Race Trucks head to St. Johns, PA next Saturday, September 2nd, to battle it out at Mountain Speedway.

Speedbowl hosts 5-feature program

August 18, 2007
By Peter Vanderveer
for Norwich Bulletin

The All-Star Race Trucks series returns to the Waterford Speedbowl tonight as part of a NASCAR Whelen All-American Weekly Racing Division five-feature program.

Local driver Chris Correll likes the idea of familiar ground in his personal drive for five straight point championships.

Once a resident of Waterford who now calls Old Lyme home, Correll will take to the track around 8:15 p.m. along with about 25 other drivers for the 25-lap feature which awards 200 points to the winner.

Correll, who began his racing career close to 20 years ago at Waterford, third in points, 25 out of the top spot.

He's won the last four championships driving for Don Super, also out of Old Lyme.

"It will feel good taking a short ride to the track for a change,"said Correll, who competes in a series that travels around the Northeast.

Last week, Correll and company competed at the Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H. Their next stop is Airborne Speedway, in Plattsburgh,N.Y.

Correll has seven career truck wins at Waterford, including three national points openers. He's driven everything from enduros through SK Modifieds, sometimes competing locally in school bus demolition derbies. "If it has a steering wheel and tires on it, I've probably driven it,"Correll said.

Like many drivers, Correll likes the outside line at Waterford.

"It's nice to go out there and prove that you can pass people doing it," he said. "There have been nights when there's a great outside line at the track."

Correll has driven in the series since 1999, first for Mystic's Jim Gookins, then for Scott Gregory (Westbrook) for a year and for the past six years for Super.

Twin States Speedway 6/15/07 & Monadnock Speedway 6/16/07
An AllStar Weekend

By Michele Brown

Winchester, NH- The AllStar Race truck series raced a double header this past weekend. Friday night thunder roared under the lights at Twin States Speedway. Saturday brought the trucks back to the incredible oval at Monadnock Speedway. New Hampshire has some of the best racing in New England and the ARTS gang is right smack in the middle of it and summer isn’t officially here yet.

A full field of trucks dazzled the race fans at Twin States. They ran two heats with Seth Duval claiming the first one and Andy Lindeman taking the second. This would set the field in motion for a 30 lap shoot out. The weather in New Hampshire was the only thing on the chilly side when the green flag dropped. Chief Starter Scott Michie motioned the field and with a thunderous roar the trucks shook the front stands bleachers. Scott Gregory our pole sitter and Derek Chriss led the field into turn one before Gregory pulled out in front. Gregory’s throttle would stick by lap 5 and the lead until the hard charging Gee Perry was able to go to the outside to claim the top spot. Bill Leonard who started deep in the field made his way into fourth come up short on laps before he would move up any further. Gee Perry would hold on for his first win in 2007. Gee made his way to victory lane and thanked the track for an awesome facility to run, his crew and sponsors FEB Construction aand BRF Equipment Rentals.

The finish: G. Perry, Lindeman, Correll, Leonard, Wosko, Duval, Naglieri, Singer, Smith, Chriss, Gregory, Dunleavy, Carrigg, Austill, Zoller, and R. Perry.

Saturday brought these truckers back to Monadnock for their second appearance of the season. An autograph session gets the race fans fired up early. The weather was warm and beautiful and this track has scenery of mountains that go on forever. Roger Perry suffered mechanical problems and just about every team pitched into get the #36 race ready would not be able to take the green.

The trucks ran two heats with fan favorite Bernie Singer taking the checker in the first and newcomer Rick Charette taking the second honors. This would fill the roaster for a 30-lap racing extravaganza. Fans want hard racing and entertainment and who are we not to deliver. Fans on their feet cheered as the green flag fell and pole sitter Tony Naglieri and for the second night in a row Derek Chriss cruised into turn one. From the start truck were weaving and trading places quicker than the players at the NFL draft. Correll would take the lead on lap 7 only to surrender to Bernie Singer. Singer and Correll would battle side by side lap after lap until Bernie claimed the last checker of the weekend. The fans witnessed five lead changes by three drivers and I don’t think anyone used even the edge of their seats. This track has a magic that raps everyone up from the time the green falls to the checkers last stand.

Singer in victory lane thanked Herb and the crew at the track, his own crew, and sponsors...Spectro Oil & Dunleavy's Road Service & Truck Repair.

The finish: Singer, Correll, Wosko, Lindeman, Perry, Gregory, Duval, Charette, Leonard, Chriss, Zoller, Smith, Naglieri, Carrigg, Dunleavy, and Johnston.

If you haven’t seen the finesse of these racers you’re missing racing at its best. The next race is back in the white mountains of New Hampshire at Canaan Speedway on July 7th and Monadnock on the 14th. If you want more information on the drivers, schedule, and standings check us out on the web at allstarracetrucks.com. Monadnock Speedway 5/5/07
Lindeman, ARTS winner at Monadnock - Dedicates Race to his 'MOM'
By Michele Brown

Winchester, NH – The AllStar Race Trucks made their first appearance of the season at Monadnock Speedway. The picturesque White Mountains set the perfect backdrop for the warm spring day. However, once the heats were over and the sun began to go down the cool air that only New Hampshire possess brought out sweatshirts and blankets in the stands. As always with this incredible track, a packed house of race fans were ready to see some door to door racing and who were we not to put on a show of shows.

The trucks ran two heats races. The first checkers went to the #83 of Gee Perry and the second honors to #16 of Seth Duval. This would set the pace for a 30-lap feature that had fans once again on their feet. The trucks bring excitement in the bleachers as if they were a regular Saturday night line-up. You just cannot help getting caught up in it.

As the trucks pulled out on to the track fans were already cheering them on. A couple of laps to put some heat in the tires before Chief Starter Scott Michie crossed the field over to take the green. Derek Chriss would be our pole sitter with long time friend Andy Lindeman to his outside. After the wave of the green Lindeman quickly claimed the top spot and led the trucks in to a thunderous roar down the backstretch. Correll started to wheel in Lindeman and finally on lap 11 took the lead from the outside. The only caution would fly on lap 13 as rookie contender Rick Charette found the deep dip in turn three that spun him around a couple times. The restart came and Lindeman reclaimed the lead, and would never look back. Duval, G. Perry, and Gregory would follow Lindeman through leaving Correll to fill in the fifth spot.

Andy Lindeman made his way around the track with the checkered flag for the first time this season. Lindeman’s first ARTS win was at this very track. He thanked his new crew chief and fellow racer John St. Germain and the incredible fans and staff at the track. Andy also thanked his sponsors Dawson’s Body Shop & Towing, Fane, Thorpe Electric and Lindeman Construction. In honor of Mother’s Day, Andy dedicated this race to his Mother Shirley. Shirley is not only his number one supporter and huge race fan; she is a wonderful person to have the pleasure of knowing.

The top fifteen were: Lindeman, Duval, G. Perry, Gregory, Correll, Wosko, Leonard, Singer, Naglieri, Charette, Chriss, R. Perry, Zoller, Cowan, and Carrigg.

The trucks will be back in New Hampshire at Canaan Speedway on May 19. The series is getting more exposure and growing rapidly. Waterford Speedbowl, 3/31/07
Leonard Takes ARTS Checker

By Michele Brown

Waterford, CT- This past weekend was the kind of weekend that all track owners, promoters, drivers and fans usually only get to dream about. I have been affiliated with the AllStar Race Trucks for over eight years and we have endured record breaking rain falls, snow, hail, sleet, and below freezing temperatures to get laps in the books on an opening day weekend. So you have to believe me when I tell you the atmosphere throughout the Waterford Speedbowl was electrifying. The sun was high in the sky and the race schedule, one of the best we have seen over the years, ran like a well-oiled wheel.

Friday afternoon offered many laps of practice for all the divisions looking to test out all the hard work accomplished over the very long off-season. The trucks took full advantage and left plenty of new rubber on the asphalt. We welcome racers Rick Charette and Roger Perry, to the series this year. Bill Leonard will be looking to start his third race having debuted at the end of last year. With new trucks and a field of veterans making up the circuit this could only set excitement soaring as opening day was only 24 hours away.

The first of two 10- lap heats found last years series champion Chris Correll in victory lane with the second checkers going to Andy Lindeman, who is always a contender for the championship. Unfortunately, Derek Chriss's motor gave him enough problems in the heat that would keep him from taking the green in the feature. The top eight in each heat would then redraw setting the line-up for a twenty-five-lap shoot out.

The stands roared with excitement as the trucks thundered down pit lane making their way on to the track. The trucks all shiny and new quickly crossed over with a wave of the flags from Chief Starter Scott Michie. Walt Wosko, Jr. was the pole sitter with Bill Leonard to his outside. With a quick flip of the green the season had begun. The shuffle of the trucks coming out of turns one and two had fans on their feet and cheering on their favorite drivers. The only caution would fly on lap 6 when the Gee Perry and Mike Cavallaro spun sending Perry to the rear of the field. Sportsman like contact only led to the already heightened excitement in the stands. Wosko kept his lead with Leonard in his rear mirror. The hard charging Seth Duval was making his way up to third with Gee Perry on his bumper. Gregory and Correll were coming on and making the top six spots a race in itself. Leonard, who is no stranger to the Speedbowl ducked under Wosko on lap 16 and never looked back.

Bill Leonard thanked his sponsors Holmes Garage, Franklin Power Equipment and Paws Pet Grooming, his crew wife and spotter Tina Leonard, Steve, Ron, Steve and Sandra, Shane and LJ. Bill said that winning was awesome, he knew he had a good handling truck but wasn't sure of his capability. He will be definitely one to watch this year.

The finish: #8 Leonard, #711 Wosko, #16 Duval, #83 G. Perry, #7 Correll, #94 Gregory, #2 Cavallaro, #3 Lindeman, #03 Naglieri, #36 R. Perry, #41 Carrigg, #07 Charette.

The series will be heading north to Monadnock Speedway for their next race on May 5. For more information on the drivers, schedule, and standings check us out on the web at eastcoastracetrucks.com. 2005 Press Releases

Gregory Takes the Win - Correll Championship #3

By Michele Brown

Waterford, CT- The Waterford Speedbowl finally beat out Mother Nature and was able to run the season finale with quite an impressive line-up this past Saturday to a crowd of race hungry fans. This was the final race of the 2005 season for the Northeast AllStar Race Truck Division. Total purse for this final race was increased due to additional contributions from the 94 Foxwood team and from "Tall Dave" from the 16 Auchmoody team.

The trucks ran two action packed ten lap heats with the # 7 Ford of Chris Correll taking the first checkers and the second heat honors went to the #94 Chevy of Scott Gregory.

A 25-lap feature set the stage for the ARTS combo race. The #711 CT Custom Care chevy of Walt Wosko, Jr., current point leader was on the pole with the #99 Dunleavy Road Service dodge of Bernie Singer to his outside door. With their notorious thunderous roar the trucks came out of turn four to take the green. Wosko quickly jumped out front for the lead with Singer on his bumper and Auchmoody, Gregory and Correll in tow. Caution flew quickly as fuel sprayed from the rear of the #99. Once again the green flag flew and the boys drove hard down the front stretch. Wosko continued to pull away from the pack. The shuffle for the next few positions began to take shape.

On lap 9 Correll had reeled in Wosko to take him on the outside to take the front spot. A spot that he wouldn’t hold for long as the hard charging Foxwoods Racing Against Cancer chevy was closing in. Gregory dove under Correll coming out of three and four to take the lead on lap 19 and they would continue to run door to door something that these truckers have pleased fans with time and time again over the past six years and tonight would be no exception. On lap 21 only paint chips separated them at the line and everyone waited patiently to see the score board light up to see Correll edge him at the line. The battle then for second back had fans on top of the bleachers. Coming out of turn four Gregory and Correll turned sideways like some sort of ballet on rubber. Gregory shot down the front stretch with Correll hooked like a trailer giving him the points he need for a championship. Lindeman ducked under Wosko for third taking Auchmoody with him for fourth.

Scott Gregory and the #94 Racing Against Cancer Foxwoods team made their way to victory lane. The Foxwoods team had put up a bonus for this race. Scott thanked his crew Jim and Norm for their continued support.

Chris Correll clinched his third Northeast ARTS championship. Chris thanked Pat’s Auto Center, Burnett’s Racing engines, truck owner Don Super, his crew, his wife Michele and their two children Taylor and Spencer. Correll who also ran in the mini stock division thanked Rich Brooks, Nick Verno and The Big Ball Crew for all their help.

The top 10 finishers were: #94 Gregory, #7 Correll, #3 Lindeman, #16 Auchmoody, #711 Wosko, #83 Perry, #99 Singer, #7x Caddick, #03 Naglieri, #22 Derek Chriss.

This series is quickly growing and the competition is hot so for more information on how to own and/or drive one of these awesome trucks contact Bob Gelsi, ARTS Eastern Series Director at bobgelsi@eticomm.net.

Lindeman Takes 2nd ARTS Win at Mahoning
7/23/05

by Michele Brown-Correll

Mahoning, PA - The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic AllStar Race Truck Series made their mark in the history books at Mahoning Valley Speedway back on June 4 and this past Saturday night treated race fans to an action packed door to door shoot out that had even the announcers on their feet. Once again the crowd was packed in like sardines from the pits to the bleachers and from the time the first flag waved till the last checker flew not one person left. What an incredible racing facility. The trucks ran two 8-lap heats. The #19 of Gordon “Tag” Neil took the first checkers and the #03 of Tony Naglieri claimed the second and both run Fords. This would set the pace for a twenty-five-lap feature.

The trucks lined up and took a couple tours around the track and the announcer sent them off with a fan wave of the hats as the flag man motioned for them to crossover. Last weeks first time race winner, Andy Lindeman, piloting his #3 chevy set the pace on the pole with the # 03 of Tony Naglieri at his door. From the drop of the green the notorious thunderous roar of the trucks had fans cheering them on. Lindeman, Naglieri, Wosko, Singer, Neil and Gregory shot to the front like bullets chasing a target. Singer, Wosko and Neil were making several attempts to bait Lindeman on the outside then on the inside but were unable to reel him in enough for the pass. The dance card was filling in for the next few positions as the laps were winding down and the field was still tightly grooved together.

Auchmoody, Bruno, Tori, Catanzaro and Rinderer were shuffling the rest of the field making very part of the track as exciting as the next. If you can image ballet on four wheels then you would know exactly what it took for these guys to finesse around to go again green to checker and bring fans out of their seats and on top of the bleachers. The crowd spoke for itself. Lindeman held on for the checker as Wosko ducked under lap traffic to beat out Singer at the line followed by Neil and Gregory to round out the top five.

An extremely happy Andy Lindman emerged from his race truck to an overwhelming round of applause by fans and track staff. He thanked the fans and the track for an awesome facility to race at. This is Andy’s second win in a row in the ARTS. He thanked his crew chief Bob, Sue, Kim, mom Shirley, and family members who were on hand to celebrate. Andy also thanked his sponsors Dawson’s Body Shop & Towing, Fane, and Thorpe Electric Supply.

The top ten: #3 Lindeman, #711 Wosko, #99 Singer, #19 Neil, #94 Gregory, #7 Correll, #03 Naglieri, #16 Auchmoody, #25 Tori, #31 Bruno.

The Mid-Atlantic dirt trucks head to Bridgeport on August 13, the Mid-Atlantic series will be at Catskill Mountain on August 20 and the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast trucks will both be back at Mahoning Valley on August 27. The series is growing and the competition is hot so for more information on how to own and/or drive one of these awesome trucks Bob Gelsi, ARTS Eastern Series Director at bobgelsi@eticomm.net.

Lindeman Claims First ARTS Win at Monadnock
7/23/05

by Michele Brown

Winchester, NH - The Northeast AllStar Race Truck Series made their way back up to the White Mountains for the Bond Auto Parts Outlaw Pro 100 at Monadnock Speedway. Once again the superb showmanship of the drivers and the outstanding officiating keeps the non-stop action leaving the fans breathless and yelling for more. As I have said time and time again you can’t help but get caught up in this true die hard racing phenomenon that this track possess that seems to last from the time the first flag waves till the last checker flies.

The trucks ran two 8-lap heats. The #7 Hooters of Chris Correll took the first honors and the second checkers went to the #94 Foxwoods of Scott Gregory. The trucks were now set to take to the asphalt for a 25-lap feature.

The trucks lined up and took a couple hot laps before the flagman motioned for them to cross over to take the green. The #94 of Gregory the pole sitter and the #99 of Bernie Singer was at his door. With a clap of their thunderous roar the trucks shook the front stretch bleachers much to the pleasure of the fans. Gregory led the field into lap two before the hard charging man on a mission the #3 of Andy Lindeman took to the outside for the lead and never looked back. The field began to shuffle as the pack made the circuit. The # 7 of Correll began to wheel in Lindeman and made several attempts to take the lead each time coming up short. The battle for third through fifth was three wide at times looking like one truck coming out of turn after turn but when the checker dropped it was Lindeman for the win, followed by Correll, Wosko who edged out Singer for third and Gregory sliding into fifth.

Andy Lindman made his way to victory lane for the fist time in his # 3 Dawson’s Body Shop & Towing and Thorpe Electric Supply Chevy. Andy thanked his sponsors, his crew chief Bob for a great truck, Sue, Kim, and his Mom who was there for the win. He also thanked the staff of Monadnock Speedway for a great place to race and the ‘Mid-Atlantic’ Boys who came up to run with us.

The top ten were #3 Lindeman, # 7 Correll, # 711 Wosko, # 99 Singer, # 94 Gregory, # 16 Auchmoody, # 25 Tori, # 2x Casola, # 13 Zoller, # 66 MacDonald.

7/16/05

By Michele Brown

Waterford, CT- The Waterford Speedbowl beat out threats from Mother Nature and were able to run a quite an impressive line-up this past Saturday to a crowd of race hungry fans. This was the third of many combination races this season for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast AllStar Race Truck Divisions.

The trucks ran two action packed ten lap heats with the Mid Atlantic's # 19 Ford of Tag Neil taking the first checkers and the second heat honors went to the Northeast's #7 Ford of Chris Correll.

A 25-lap feature set the stage for the trucks combo race. The #10 Greens Automotive & Performance powered chevy of John Condit set the pace on the pole with veteran Chris Correll in his #7 Hooters to his outside. With their notorious thunderous roar the trucks came out of turn four to take the green. Condit quickly jumped out front for the lead with Correll on his bumper; on lap two Correll took to the outside for the lead and never looked back. The first caution fell on lap 12 when the #03 of Tony Naglieri and the #54 of Rudy Rinderer found themselves turned around between turns 3 and 4. Correll out a head on the restart left the # 99 dodge of Singer trying to duck under Condit for the second spot, Condit held on and Singer found the #711 of Wosko and the #94 of Gregory looking to make it three wide. The caution flew once again on lap 23 as the #23 of Anglace made slight contact with the turn 2 wall. This set the stage for a green, white checker shoot out that these truckers have pleased fans with time and time again and tonight would be no exception. With the thunderous roar and the paint chip shuffle once again a three-wide bid would bring fans to their feet. Correll took the lead, Condit glued to his bumper, Singer in tow Gregory shot under Wosko to round out the top five.

Chris thanked "The Mid-Atlantic Boys", Pat's Auto Center, Burnett's Racing engines, truck owner Don Super, his crew, his wife, Michele and their two children Taylor and Spencer. Correll, who also ran in the mini stock division that evening, thanked Rich Brooks, Nick Verno and Crew for all their help.

The top 15 finishers were #7 Correll, #10 Condit, #99 Singer, #94 Gregory, #711 Wosko, #3 Lindeman, #16 Auchmoody, #13 Zoller, #54 Rinderer, #19 Neil, #25 Tori, #41 Carrigg, #23 Anglace, #03 Naglieri, #77 Deschenes. Correll and Wosko continue their see saw race with the points with Correll back on the topside this week. Still a very tight race between Correll, Wosko, Gregory and Lindeman as we approach the half way mark in the Northeast.

The Mid-Atlantic and Northeast ARTS series head to Monadnock in the White Mountains of Winchester, NH on July23. This series is quickly growing and the competition is hot so for more information on how to own and/or drive one of these awesome trucks contact Bob Gelsi, ARTS Eastern Series Director at bobgelsi@eticomm.net.

GORDON "TAG" NEIL WINS
as ARTS Make History at Mahoning Valley Speedway
6/4/2005

by Michele Brown

Mahoning, PA - The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic AllStar Race Truck Series made their mark in the history books at Mahoning Valley Speedway. This was the first time in the tracks fifty plus years running that a race truck has touched the ¼ mile oval asphalt. Action packed, fun-filled racing and the crowd was packed in like sardines from the pits to the bleachers and from the time the first flag waved till the last checker flew I don't think one of them used their seats.

The trucks ran two 10-lap heats. The #19 Ford of Gordon "Tag" Neil took the first checkers and the #16 Chevy of Willy Auchmoody claimed the second. This would set the pace for a twenty-five-lap feature.

The trucks lined up and took a couple tours around the track and the announcer sent them off with a fan wave of the hats as the flagman motioned for them to crossover. Tag Neil in his #19 Grover Electric Ford set the pace of the pole with the #16 of Willy Auchmoody at his door. From the drop of the green the notorious thunderous roar of the trucks had fans cheering them on. The #3 of Lindeman, #7 of Correll and the #711 of Wosko would quickly work their way into the top five and set their sights on the orange #19 of Tag. The only caution of the night fell on lap #20 when the #25 of Curt Tori got into the rear of the #13 of Jeff Zoller spinning him between turn 1 and 2. A five-lap shoot out brings the house down. The field regrouped and athe green once again waved. The #7 of Correll and the #711 of Wosko both looked to duck under the #19 of Tag but he was able to hold on and the #3 of Lindeman closed the door to hold on to second. The crowd spoke for itself. An extremely happy Tag Neil emerged from his race truck to an overwhelming round of applause by fans and track staff. He thanked the fans and the track for an awesome facility to race at. Tag also thanked his sponsors Grover Electric of Tuckerton, NJ and McCourt Construction.

The top fifteen: #19 Neil, #3 Lindeman, #7 Correll, #711 Wosko, #16 Auchmoody, #10 Condit, #31 Bruno, #03 Naglieri, #25 Tori, #54 Rinderer, #94 Gregory, #41 Carrigg, #13 Zoller, #17 Catanzaro, #24 Murray.

The NE ARTS series heads to Monanock Speedway on June 18 and the Mid-Atlantic division is heading to the dirt at Bridgeport on June 11. The #94 of Gregory and the #7 of Correll went cage to cage before Correll finally caught a better bite out of turn four and took the 1 on lap five. The bid for third and fourth position was heating up the track. The #66 of MacDonald, #94 Gregory, and the #711 of Wosko kept the heat for second and the crowd on the edge of the seats by going three wide in places that were not big enough for three race vehicles. This brought the excitement to an all time high as the stands shook with applause. The #94 of Gregory finally broke away and started to wheel in the #7 of Correll. Gregory was able to close the gap when the caution flag few, as the front stretch had suddenly become a parking lot.
