The 2011 series champion Andy Lindeman started out a bit slowly over the first four races of the season with only two top five finishes but came to life at race five by taking his first victory of the season. He followed that up by winning two more times during the year and had eight top five finishes going into the final race of the 2011 New England Truck Series. Defending Points Champion Andy Lindeman only needed to take the green flag to secure his 5th Points Championship but the racing gods needed to test LIndeman and his crew before he got to the asphalt. The drive shaft in the number 3 truck broke and the replacement drive shaft was no better; and if that was not enough, the transmission also failed. However, here is where experience and good sportsmanship prevailed. Andy has always been a clean and fierce competitor and it paid off for him. Driver Derek Chriss of the number 12 truck not wanting Andy to limp into his 5th championship sacrificed his drive shaft and transmission to repair the ailing number 3 truck. Andy's amazing crew went to work and in record time the number 3 truck was roaring once again.
Unfortunately, the repairs consumed all of the practice time and Lindeman had to enter the track with only his experience to guide him through the turns. He started third and when the green flag dropped he stayed with the pace and maintained that position through the final lap. A cheer went up in the LIndeman camp as the checkered flag dropped on his 5th consecutive point championship with the Truck Series. Andy LIndeman is the only driver to secure 5 consecutive point championships which is a testament to he is talent and tenacity. This race also was an illustration of Andy's long support of the racing series and the other drivers, when Derek Chriss rose to the occasion to help Andy race competitively in the last race. Derek was only to take the green flag in the number 12 truck which had him finish 4th in the points for the season. Andy expressed his gratitude to Derek for helping out the Lindeman Race Team.
In the Second race of the night it was back to business as usual for the Lindeman Team. In the North vs. South Shootout, Andy and crew mad adjustments to the truck allowing Andy to lead all 20 laps and win the race.
After winning his 5th Championship with the New England Truck Series, Andy will retire from the trucks to pursue his 358 Modified career at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, New York and attempt to win a championship in that premier division.
